I take the privacy of your data seriously. It is treated as confidential and only used for the linguistic services you request. I am the data controller and data processor, and you have the right to ask me to amend or delete this information at any time. I adhere to the statutory requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Why do I process it
I collect, store and use your personal data only to issue a quote, provide a translation or editing service that you request or to comply with legal requirements. Personal data collected many include your name, postal address, email address and correspondence, telephone number and payment information. Personal data may also include special categories such as health information, but only if you send me this data for the specific purpose of translating it. I also store data from documents you send me for translation or editing purposes.
I do not use your personal data for marketing purposes.
The legal basis for processing your data is to perform the services you request or to take necessary steps prior to fulfilling that request (GDPR Article 6 (1b) “performance of a contract”). The same legal basis also applies if you provide me with a service. The legal basis for processing special categories of personal data such as health information is your explicit consent for me to translate, revise or edit that information (GDPR Article 6 (1a) “consent”).
Who else receives your data
Your data is held securely on my personal computer, and not shared with third parties. Email hosting services may have access to your data.
How long I keep your data
For administrative and information purposes I keep all data for six years.
